From a leadership team to 900 participants

Whether it’s a leadership team of around fifteen people or the 900 participants at a KPMG business unit’s retreat, we scale the venue, the logistics and the on-site team to the size of your group.

One project manager, working in English

The same person looks after your retreat from the first call to the event itself and coordinates every supplier. They work with you in English and are on site with your team on the day, so you only ever deal with one person.

A programme that adapts

For Libon, the two half-days set aside for meetings turned into activities, and numbers stayed uncertain until the last minute. We reworked the programme with our local suppliers.

Weevup, a French event agency for your corporate retreat

Weevup organises your corporate retreat in France, whether your teams are based in London, at a European head office or in the United States. We help you choose the region, shortlist venues, build a programme that mixes working sessions and team bonding, and run transfers from airports and stations. You keep control of every choice.

Founded in Paris in 2015, our corporate event agency is based in Le Vésinet, just west of Paris, on the RER A line. More than 100 companies have trusted us with their events, and our team already handles requests in English for large international groups.

You can tell a retreat worked by the Monday after.

Let’s talk about your event

Corporate retreat locations in France

Champagne, Alsace, Provence, the Basque Country or the Loire Valley: the right region depends on where your people are travelling from, how much time you have and what the retreat is for. Here are four parts of France where our clients have taken their teams, each with events we organised there.

  • Swiss Life: two days in Reims for teams from Lille and Paris, with workshops and a closing champagne tasting at the Clos Corbier wine estate. Read about the Swiss Life retreat in Reims.
  • Elanco: more than 300 staff at the Hilton Strasbourg for the annual sales retreat, with a tour of the Huningue production site, a digital rally through Colmar and a gala evening at the Unterlinden Museum. See the Elanco sales retreat in Alsace.
  • Good for: a large group that wants a historic city to explore and time in the vineyards. More ideas for a retreat in Strasbourg and Colmar.

A fully managed corporate retreat

Fully managed means you no longer deal with the logistics: venue and rooms, ground transport, meeting rooms and AV, catering, activities, the evening event, invitations and the programme sent to participants.

For a banking group, our graphic designer created a giant version of the card game Jungle Speed, and every participant received a personalised digital programme. For Cherry Ventures, around 200 staff and partners gathered near Barcelona used a dedicated app for the agenda, workshop sign-ups and feedback.

Getting your team to France

Eurostar runs direct trains to Paris Gare du Nord, in the city centre, from London St Pancras International, Brussels-Midi, Amsterdam Centraal and Cologne. When we choose the venue, we start from access: a direct train whenever possible, then a coach or shuttle waiting for the group at the station or airport.

Train and plane tickets are booked by your travel department or a travel agency. Our clients have taken us to more than 20 destinations, from Reims to Biarritz.

Corporate retreat, conference or away day: what’s the difference?

All three bring your people together, but not for the same purpose. Here is how to tell them apart.

Retreat or conference?

  • A corporate retreat gets a group working together and brings it closer: breakout sessions in small groups, activities, dinners together.
  • A company conference addresses a large audience in a plenary session with speakers: annual kick-off, sales conference, results presentation.
  • For a plenary that carries the leadership’s message to several hundred people, see our company conference planning.

Retreat or away day?

  • An away day, or one-day offsite, fits into a single day with no overnight stay: talks or workshops at an easy-to-reach venue, then drinks.
  • A retreat runs over two days or a weekend and leaves more room for informal conversations, activities and an evening together.
  • For a day focused on work, see our away day and meeting day planning.

A more sustainable retreat, if you want one

Sustainability comes as an option, without changing your programme. In every proposal, we put more sustainable options next to the standard ones: a venue you can reach by train or public transport, seasonal menus, gifts from regional producers, digital invitations, reusable decor.

For SVR’s international retreat in Paris, the hotels, dinners and activities were chosen close to one another so that everything could be done on foot. You compare, and you decide.

Weevup holds an EcoVadis Silver medal, which places it among the top 15% of companies assessed. Read about our CSR approach (in French).

Step away, reconnect and return as one team

Corporate retreat near Paris: city, countryside or coast?

If you want to stay close to Paris, you have four settings to choose from. Paris suits a two-day retreat for teams arriving by train or plane: for SVR’s international retreat, 125 participants followed a programme designed to be done on foot, between the hotel, the Eiffel Tower and the Seine.

The Île-de-France region offers country estates and châteaux with rooms on site. Honfleur and Deauville, on the Normandy coast, bring the sea within easy reach. And to go further, here are all our retreat ideas across France.

A corporate retreat, also called a company offsite or team retreat, takes your people away from the office for one or more nights to work on shared priorities and spend time together. It mixes working sessions, breakout workshops, team-building activities and informal moments such as dinners.

Companies use it to share a strategy, start a new year, support a change or welcome new joiners. At Weevup, we organise retreats in France for leadership teams and for groups of several hundred people.

Start from four criteria: the number of participants, how easily your people can get there from the cities they travel from, the rooms you need, single or shared, and the meeting space. Then come the setting and the atmosphere.

At Weevup, we have taken groups to Reims, Strasbourg and Colmar, Provence, the Basque Country, the Loire Valley and Paris, and we compare venues on these criteria before proposing them. Our guide to choosing a retreat venue goes further.

It depends on what the retreat is for and how far your team travels. One or two nights on site add an evening and activities to the working sessions. Three days or more give everyone a complete change of scene.

At Weevup, we have organised a weekend at the Château de Pizay for Pacific and Général, three days and two nights in the Basque Country for Libon, and four days at Center Parcs du Lac d’Ailette for 900 KPMG staff.

Yes. Our team already handles requests in English and works for large international groups. Your project manager runs the brief, the proposals and the follow-up with you in English, and deals with French venues and suppliers on your behalf.

On the day, they are on site with your team. We are used to international groups: for SVR’s international retreat in Paris, we designed a programme for 125 participants that could be done entirely on foot.

Not directly. Weevup is not a travel agency: train and plane tickets are booked by your travel department or a travel agency. We take over on the ground, with airport and station transfers, coaches between venues and a team member to welcome the group.

For Groupe Positive’s conference in Brussels, 300 participants arrived from places that were sometimes far away, and we ran their transfers from airports and stations to the hotel with a local partner.

Activities should serve the goal of the retreat: bringing teams closer, discovering a region or thinking differently. For Swiss Life, participants chose between DIY, mosaic and cooking workshops, and even Zumba.

For Elanco, a tour of the production site helped the sales teams understand their products. For Husqvarna, we organised a visit to an Espelette pepper grower. At Weevup, we adapt every activity to your group size and the season. More ideas on our team-building page.

Yes. For a leadership team, the venue matters as much as the agenda: a quiet and discreet place, long working sessions and fine food to keep the conversation going.

For Generali, we brought 40 executives together at the Relais de Chambord, with a tour of the château, dinner at Christophe Hay’s Michelin-starred restaurant and a vineyard tasting the next day. Find out more about our leadership offsites.

It starts with a call about your goals, the number of participants, the cities they travel from, your dates and your budget. We come back with several venues compared, a programme for each and a budget broken down line by line.

Once you have made your choice, your project manager books the venue and suppliers, coordinates transfers and invitations, then stays on site with your team on the day. To prepare that first call, you can structure your event brief.
